Be My Valentine DIYs

February 11, 2024

Valentine’s Day is a special holiday regardless of one’s romantic relational status because it always shifts the focus onto love, something present in every healthy family and friendship, and with more health benefits than any essential oil! Without love, we’re all in trouble. So go wild showing the most special people in your life just how much they mean to you, which can include a heartfelt gift or project undertaken together. Homemade creations for every student in your class? Cool. Goodwill goodies for each of your coworkers? Lovely. A make-and-take event around the kitchen table with friends? Sweet!

To make Sweet Love Lollipops with your favorite essential oil flavors, you’ll need:

• 2 cups dark melting chocolate

• A few drops dōTERRA® oils of choice, to taste

• Lollipop or other candy molds

• Lollipop sticks

Melt chocolate pieces in double boiler, stirring until smooth. Once melted, drop in oils and stir well. This process requires some taste testing! Take note of the ratio that makes your finished product ideal for enjoying and gifting. Pour quickly into the molds to avoid premature cooling and hardening of the chocolate mixture. Carefully place lollipop sticks into chocolates before setting molds aside to cool. Recipe yield depends on size of mold, so adjust amounts accordingly. The above recipe is designed to make enough to share and/or give as gifts. To get fancy, pipe naturally colored chocolate into the mold before adding your chocolate mixture! Simple or glitzy, they’ll make sweet gifts.

Whether you go with a citrus like Tangerine or Clementine, or a cool blast like Peppermint or SuperMint™, you can feel great about enjoying these oils wrapped up in the fabulous special treat of a chocolatey lollipop. Just be sure you’re using oils that are safe for internal use! For a fun make-and-take event, guests can bring their own variety of candy molds to share. White chocolate could also be an option, for those who aren’t fans of the cocoa flavor (it happens). Decorators can go all out with cellophane candy wrappers, twine, ribbons, and gift tags, making these little pops as attractive as they are sweet.

Speaking of gift tags, be sure to check out dōTERRA’s Valentine printables, available for download online and perfect for labeling kids’ school valentines, neighbor gifts, oil samples, and much more. With cute phrases like “I Oily Like You,” “Oil You Be Mine?” and “I’ll Oilways Be Your Friend,” they’ll make fun additions to any DIY Valentine’s gift.

Let’s also make Homemade Candy Bark, a fantastic alternative to processed candy, requiring just four simple ingredients. You’ll need:

• 1 cup dark chocolate chips

• 1 teaspoon coconut oil

• 1/2 cup almonds

• favorite dōTERRA oil to pair with chocolate (see above suggestions)

Melt chocolate chips and coconut oil together until smooth. Add in one drop (or less) of essential oil and mix together. Pour melted chocolate onto wax paper on a cookie sheet, spreading chocolate around with a spoon to make an even layer. Crush almonds and sprinkle over chocolate. Place in fridge and allow to chill before breaking into pieces.

These recipes are only a couple of the limitless ways to show loved ones how much we care; and sharing the gift of dōTERRA at the same time makes it that much better. For a sweet time with your valentine, try these ideas out. Happy Valentine’s Day!
